Quilliam’s team of theologians research and analyse the textual tradition of Islamic theology and jurisprudence in order to present pluralistic interpretations of Islam that are suitable for our age. Such interpretations challenge extremism and present possible solutions to many of the conflicts and challenges around Islam in the contemporary world.

The Islamic Studies team regularly engage in public speaking, including on media in several languages, and write and publish across different channels. Topics of particular interest are: universal human rights, modern interpretations of Islamic law and ethics, citizenship and integration, interfaith relations and religion/science conversations.
