Aya Faissal is Communications Officer at Quilliam Global, responsible for developing media content for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She writes opinion piece in both French and Arabic languages promoting the role of families in Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) and encouraging organisations to join Families Against Terrorism (FATE) network. In addition of assisting FATE team in organising and delivering workshops across North Africa.
Aya has work experience in the NGO sector for more than 5 years, including in her native Egypt. She managed projects in the MENA region focusing on empowering women and youth and is also a trained facilitator of human development training programmes. In the UK, Aya has been working with multi-faith institutions and communities facilitating their collaboration and cohesion for a better society. Aya received her Master’s Degree in “International Relations: Cooperation and Development in MENA” from the Political Institute of Lyon, France.
