Muna volunteered at Quilliam during the summer of 2016, and later joined the team as a researcher in January 2017.
Her research interests include progressive Islamic reform with a focus on the philosophical underpinnings of Islamic thought. She also holds a special interest in the rights of women and minorities in Muslim-majority nations.
Muna has contributed to several news agencies in the UK, such as The Independent and The Huffington Post, and abroad, such as Pakistan’s Express Tribune and the South Asian Voices journal based in Washington D.C.
Muna studied Philosophy at the University of St Andrews, and went on to pursue a Masters in Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire.
Muna was born and raised in the Middle East and hails from a South Asian background. She is fluent in five languages.
