Salah al-Ansari is a Senior Researcher in Quilliam’s Theology and Outreach department and Lecturer in Islamic Studies, Muslim College London. Salah is the primary author of Tackling Terror: A Response to Takfiri Theology.
This report is a comprehensive, principled rejection of ISIS Jurisprudence of Blood, one of the main jurisprudential texts that is used by takfiri terrorist groups and upholds modern, universal human rights and warfare ethics.
Prior to joining Quilliam, Salah worked as a visiting Lecturer in Islamic Studies at Heythrop College, University of London where he produced a PhD on Muhammad Abu Zahra and Islamic Modernism. He is a graduate in Classical and Modern Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University, Cairo. Sheikh Salah served as an Imam and teacher at the London Central Mosque (Regent’s Park Mosque) and then worked in a number of mosques in London, Margate, Woking and Basingstoke, where he has led extensive inter-faith activities on national and international levels. Salah is featured in Arabic and mainstream media outlets including BBC Arabic TV, Sky News Arabic, France 24, TRT, Al-Jazeera, al-Ghad al-Arabi, BBC Radio 4, The Independent and The Times.
