Our aims are threefold:

To produce and operationalise a robust evidence base through innovative counter-extremism projects and rigorous monitoring and evaluation.

To put communications at the heart of our counter-extremism work, to prevent risky attitudes and unhealthy behaviours.

To build the capacity of civil society to counter extremism of all kinds.

Quilliam Global’s research aims to synthesise the academic expertise of our staff and advisors, the personal experiences of former extremists, a practitioner’s perspective derived from our programmes, and a vast corpus of research conducted by other experts in counter-extremism.

We produce reports that relate to our programmes, strategic briefings that shape policy and practitioner discussions, and papers that provide a fresh perspective on radicalisation, extremism, terrorism and how to counter these phenomena.

Quilliam Global runs programmes that combine civil society capacity-building and communications to prevent violent extremism. We currently coordinate the Families Against Terrorism and Extremism (FATE) network, and have contributed to TERRA, a European Commission-funded partnership of European organisations that provides training for frontline workers, creates robust educational resources, and evidence-based policy advice.

This year Quilliam Global is looking to build more partnerships, develop more programmes, and continue building an evidence base for future CVE work.

Quilliam Global provides consultancy to a range of public and private sector institutions. This includes training on aspects of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism such as primary prevention, targeted intervention and counterspeech, and advisory services on counter-extremism strategy development including for departments that manage policy for local government, justice, education, and policing.

Our commitments that underpin all of our work? To insist on a values-based approach to CVE that tackles extremism of all kinds, and helps civil society lead this important work. To understand local contexts where we work by collaborating with local partners who know their communities. To inform policymakers and CVE practitioners by being transparent with our results and research.
