Ed Husain spoke at several venues across Lahore in Pakistan between 20th and 25th July 2009.

His main presentation was at a national conference of student leaders at which he presented a history of Islamist movements, and how their ideas were formulated and contributed to contemporary Jihadist discourse. A lively debate ensued between Islamist and mainstream Muslim students, the beginnings of a process of challenge and change.

In addition to public speaking commitments and meeting with civil society leaders, alongside Quilliam Director Maajid Nawaz, he visited the shrines of renowned Sufi scholars including Imam Hujwiri (known locally as Datha Sahib), Abdullah Shah (known as Bulleh Shah), Allama Iqbal and others.
