On 21st September Ghaffar Hussain, Quilliam’s Director of Training and Consultancy spoke at CSARN’s risk briefing meeting about recent events in Libya and their implications for the UK. He spoke as part of a panel alongside Mike Whine from the Community Security Trust and Justin Crump, a Security Intelligence and Management Process Consultant for CSARN. Hussain discussed the developing situation in Libya, pointing out how despite progress towards democracy and peace there are still underlying issues that present causes for concern, including disorganisation at a governmental level, continuing fighting and emerging disagreements between rival rebel factions. Hussain then touched on the latest developments in Syria and Bahrain. The presentation was followed by a Question-and-Answer session.
