On the 17th of January 2011, Quilliam’s Head of Outreach and Training spoke to a class of BA Criminology students at Nottingham Trent University. The talk focused on the emergence of Islamist activism in the UK during the 80s and 90s, as well as the government’s attempts to counter it via the Contest strategy. The talk was followed by a lively Q and A session that focused on issues of identity, immigration and the far-right.
