On the 19th of May 2014, Quilliam’s Managing Director, Ghaffar Hussain, was invited to speak at RAF Honington in Suffolk. He spoke about the emergence of the Islamist movement in 1920s Egypt through the Muslim Brotherhood and the subsequent outburst of Islamist militancy that followed Islamist attempts to seize power. He also focused on radicalisation processes in the UK and how some British Muslims have been recruited to extremist groups. The talk was followed by a lively Q and A session.
