March the 8th marked International Women’s Day celebrating the struggles and achievements of women across the globe. The University Women’s Club hosted an event noting the occasion with several talks, panel discussions and even a comedy show from prominent female figures in their field. Our very own senior researcher Nikita Malik sat on a panel of experts discussing women and extremism.
Topics ranged from the women of ISIS, the Tamil Tigers and how to protect vulnerable young women from online grooming. Nikita spoke at great length about her topical publication REFUGE: pathways of young fleeing extremism. Quilliam would like to thank the University Women’s Club for hosting such an important and remarkable event and look forward to working with them in the future.
