On Friday, September 17th, Quilliam Director Maajid Nawaz and Head of Training Ghaffar Hussain were hosted by the State of Ohio to conduct Radicalization Awareness training. The training took place at the Columbus Police Academy with an audience of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers alongside agents from the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council in the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

The training explained the difference between Islam (the faith) and Islamism (the ideology), the process of radicalization, the climates that are conducive to radicalization, and various Islamist movements. The training also introduced the ideological and theological refutations of Islamism. More than 200 officers received training, and the program was well-received.
