Noman Benotman attended a frank and open discussion called North Africa Hardball which was hosted by Cross-border Information and brought together policy-makers, analysts and executives. He was joined by Jon Marks, CbI Chairman who led the dialogue, CbI’s John Hamilton, who provided comments and whose work on Libya, particularly is widely admired –  and a number of invited experts which included Hakim Darbouche, Research Fellow, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and Lakhdar Gettas, Maghreb Affairs Initiative Coordinator within the Africa International Affairs Programme at LSE IDEAS.

The diverse spectrum of expertise on various aspects of the Middle East and North Africa created a strong atmosphere for all participants to deliver their analysis on key issues. Noman’s expertise on Arab uprising, and Libya’s new position in the region, was welcomed greatly. The event took place under Chatham House Rules.
