In recognition of Quilliam’s Senior Analyst Noman Benotman’s “continuing participation in substantive, academic programs on security issues of common concern” the National Defense University’s Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies has awarded him Alumi Status.

This award is the first ever to have been granted to a Libyan national, and highlights Benotman’s contribution towards international peace and security. Benotman was awarded the honour by Ambassador (Ret) James Larocco, the Center’s Director, at a ceremony in front of an audience of more than a hundred guests. Benotman joins NESA Center’s prestigious alumni network of more than 2500 senior diplomats, academics, and military personnel around the world.
