Quilliam Founder Maajid Nawaz said:

“Some politicians have called for the scrapping of the government’s counter-extremism Prevent policy. Scrapping Prevent is naïve, opportunistic and endangers our national security. Any politician that calls for this does not understand extremism, nor the severity of the jihadist terror threat that is facing us. Instead Prevent must benefit from a national counter extremism coordinator.”

Quilliam Had Directly Reported London Bridge Terrorist Khurram Butt to Counter-terror Officials after he Physically Attacked it’s Staff and Family

Quilliam Chief Executive Haras Rafiq said:

“Although the police and security services have done a great job of keeping us safe in the past and are under-resourced against the sheer volume of the threat, on this instance, there are questions to be answered. It’s one thing when someone from the general public reports an individual as a violent extremist, but when experienced experts who are involved in deradicalizing jihadists – as Dr Hasan is, report them, a caution is not enough. His fellow traveller on The Jihadis Next Door documentary, Abu Haleema has insinuated death threats against me and my staff and this also has been reported – I trust that he and others like him will not slip through the cracks”

He lead as the senior Advisor on Islamic history for Yarrow Mamout (an enslaved African Muslim) archaeology project and showcased the diversity and pluralism that was part of early America.
