Maajid Nawaz Speaks at the Global Academy

LONDON – The Global Academy and its students in broadcast and digital media welcomed both speaker Maajid Nawaz and Quilliam’s forum theatre: Paper Cut. Maajid delivered an inspiring talk encouraging young people to express themselves through the media. Whereas Paper Cut had many of the young students interactive and on their feet discussing hate messaging and racial tensions in the current climate. This was part of a wider project by Hillingdon Council.

Senior Researcher Speaks at White City Mosque

Quilliam International’s Senior Researcher,  Dr Salah Al-Ansari was invited as a guest speaker at the Christmas dinner 2018 organised by Egyptian House and White City Mosque.  The event was also attended and addressed by representatives of Coptic religious leaders, police and local councillors.

Dr Salah addressed reasons leading to violent extremism with a major focus on Islamism and how to counter it. He emphasised the role of civil society in promoting the values of pluralism and freedom.
