Executive Director speaks at 911 Memorial & Museum

Quilliam Present Speaks on Panel at Kings College London

LONDON – Quilliam International’s Head of Islamic Studies, Dr Usama Hasan, spoke on a panel discussion entitled, “Unveiling the Burqa Ban: Discourses on Religious Freedom” hosted by the Religion & Society Policy Centre at King’s College London Think Tank.

Dr Usama was joined on the panel by Jessica Prestidge of Bright Blue, Hameed Hakimi of Chatham House & Prof Abby Day of Goldsmith’s College and argued that a burqa ban is illiberal unless it is on genuine grounds of national security.

Head of Islamic Studies Addresses at the Muslim Institute

SALISBURY – Quilliam International’s Dr Usama Hasan addressed the annual winter gathering of the Muslim Institute on the topic of “The Future of Humanity”, discussing religious and ethical issues raised by the rise of artificial intelligence, such as the possibility of conscious robots.

The meeting was attended by about 30 senior police staff. The 2-hour session included a lively Q&A section.
