Quilliam’s President Presents at the UN

ADDIS ADABA – Quilliam International’s President, Noman Benotman participated in a research seminar organised by the UNDP and ISS in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The seminar tackled the issue of ‘Reintegrating Fighters’. Noman discussed and explained the role of religion and religious leaders in the reintegration programs in his presentation.

Quilliam International Trains Unlocked Graduates

IPSWICH – Quilliam International’s Senior Researcher Dr Salah Al-Ansari delivered a training session to newly graduated students who will be working as prison officers in the UK on extremism in the prisons, root causes, and how to counter it.

The Unlocked Graduates who hosted the training is a two year leadership development programme for university graduates who will be working as prison officers across the south east of England with the aim of reducing reoffending rates. The training was attended by over 150 prison officers and other staff members.

The participant described the training as “fascinating, eye-opening and thought-provoking.”

Quilliam attend CVE workshop in Morocco

CASABLANCA – Quilliam Artistic Director, Nazish Khan, and Media Strategist, Muna Adil, were recently invited to a week-long CVE workshop in Casablanca, Morocco by the Near East and South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, a US Department of Defense regional center geared toward international security cooperation in the Near East and South Asia (NESA). The workshop included members of the military, activists, researchers, and civil society organisations with the aim to bring together a mix of different approaches to tackling violent extremism.
