NEW YORK – Center on National Security hosted a conversation on CVE with Quilliam International’s Founder Maajid Nawaz and CNS Director Karen Greenberg at Fordham Law in New York.
Maajid spoke about Quilliam and a decades worth of work in counter-extremism and what we can do as a civil society to work together and change the narrative.

Chief Executive Addresses Italian Parliament
ROME – Quilliam International’s Chief Executive Haras Rafiq was invited to address an audience on Anti-Semitism and Extremism as a strategic threat to Europe in the Chamber of Deputies at the Parliament of Italy.
Haras Rafiq shared a panel with Mayor Gabriel Groisman of Bal Harbour and Dr Lorenzo Vidino of the George Washington University Program on Extremism. Haras discussed the triple threat of far-left, far-right and Islamism as one of the main threats facing Europe and how they all had certain beliefs that hold them together – including Anti-Semitism.

This annual brain trust brought together members and attendees with over 1K in attendance at the Africa Brain Trust and in attendance was the President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Chief Executive Speaks at the Vatican
ROME – Quilliam International Chief Executive Haras Rafiq was one of the distinguished speakers at the Vatican to address the audience on the subject of Anti-Semitism and Minority Rights in the Middle East: Regional and International Implications.
The conference was jointly organised by the Vatican and The Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy (ISGAP) and was attended by experts and scholars from all three Abrahamic faiths who were united against all forms of extremism. Delegates and speakers were also invited to a private audience with Pope Francis.

Chief Executive Speaks on Panel at the United Nations
NEW YORK – Quilliam International’s Chief Executive Haras Rafiq was part of an interactive panel co-organised by the Center of International Cooperation and the Silatech Foundation at the United Nations Plaza. The discussion of the panel was on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and the SDG Agenda.
Haras’ discussion centred on counter-messaging Islamism by creating alternatives and empowering moderate voices. In the struggle for hearts and minds, he spoke of how important it was creating a counter narrative and how Quilliam develops and delivers this message.Read More

MANCHESTER – Quilliam International’s Executive Director UK, Adam Deen delivered his pathways to extremism training at the One Education office in Manchester.
He trained staff members which included psychologists, teachers and education officers.
