Successes and Failures of Post-War Immigration in Britain
An evening of discussion and debate with David Goodhart and special guests
12 May 2014, 18:00 – 19:30
Quilliam requests the pleasure of your company on the 12th of May for a discussion and debate on recent immigration trends in Britain and the impact they have had on national cohesion and British culture. The discussion will also include topics around Muslim immigration trends and how global Islamist politics have impacted the integration of British Muslims. This is a particularly pertinent issue in light of the fast approaching European Parliamentary elections as well as broader national debates around populism and extremism.
The discussion panel will include:
David Goodhart – Journalist, commentator, author and director of the cross-party think tank Demos, will be discussing the topic of immigration in light of his recent book The British Dream: Successes and Failures of Post-War Immigration, telling the story of post-war immigration and charting its future.
Ed West – Journalist and author of The Diversity Illusion.
Sunder Katwala – Political activist and director of the identity and integration think-tank British Future.
