Directors Maajid Nawaz and Ed Husain addressed a gathering of Princeton University professors in an event hosted by the James Madison program in American Ideals and Institutions, affiliated to the university.
In attendance were some of the countries leading experts in the field of Islam including the widely regarded scholar and author, Bernard Lewis. Maajid Nawaz began the presentation by introducing the attendees to his story, and Ed Husain then followed by summarizing the European Islamist scene as it currently stands.
The discussion after the brief presentations was as intellectually and academically rigorous as would be expected from such an eminent gathering of scholars. Questions ranged from asking about the apparent validity of Jihadist scriptural claims to asking how to reignite Ottomon Islamic pluralism. The directors then convened with Bernard Lewis in a post-event discussion about the possibility of reclaiming Islam from modern Islamism.
